In times goneby HOLD-ALL used to be an essential item for long distance well-to-do travellers. It used to serve many purposes- carrying everything including pillow and quilt, impressing those who were without hold-all and for unauthorisedly reserving a berth in second class and third class compartments. Some interesting experiences have been jotted down in this memoir.
